1. Mark up plans fast

Place devices, not busywork.

Pick a device from your catalog and click the plan. PlanAsBuilt numbers the tags for you, so the plan stays consistent from the first device to the last.

  • Device symbols from your own catalog
  • Automatic tags and numbering
  • Ctrl+double-click a device on the plan to pick it up and keep placing more of the same

Snapping and alignment

Neat plans without the nudging.

Devices snap to walls and line up with each other, so your plan looks professional and takes less time.

  • Snapping and align-to-walls
  • Stacks for devices that share one spot
A guide line appearing as a device is aligned with another device on the plan.

Status

Know what is planned, installed, tested, and punch.

Every device carries a status you can update in a tap. Your whole team sees progress on the plan itself.

  • Planned, installed, tested and punch statuses
  • Color-coded so progress is visible at a glance

2. Toolbox

Change your mind in one click.

Swapped a camera model? Replace a device's type in one click and keep its place on the plan. Rotate a device by clicking or dragging.

Rich device properties

Capture the details that matter.

Every device you place is its own record. Keep installation details with the device instead of in a separate spreadsheet.

  • Photos attached to each device
  • Serial number and MAC address, scanned from the barcode with your phone camera
  • IP address, NVR and channel, firmware, notes
  • Custom fields you define for each kind of device, such as alarm loop, zone, panel address or circuit, with internal-only fields hidden from clients
  • Required fields, so nothing gets marked done without the right information

3. Coverage and cable runs

Show what each camera sees.

Draw coverage cones for your cameras and adjust them right on the plan, so you can check coverage before anyone picks up a drill.

Cable runs

Draw the run. Get the length.

Draw cable runs between devices. Lengths are measured for you and feed straight into the parts list.

  • Runs connect devices on the plan
  • Lengths flow into the BOM

4. Work together live

One plan, many people, no version mix-ups.

See your teammates' cursors and selections, and what part of the plan they are looking at. Edits sync in real time.

  • Live cursors and selections
  • See what part of the plan someone is viewing
  • Real-time sync of every edit
  • Split view to look at two pages at once

Compare revisions

See exactly what changed, clouded for you.

Every plan keeps its history. Pick any two revisions and PlanAsBuilt lists every change between them. One click draws revision clouds around all of them on their own layer, ready to issue.

  • Added, removed, moved and resized devices, plus field and status changes
  • Cloud changes: automatic revision clouds around every change, undone in one step
  • Optionally cloud changes in the drawing itself, not just your markups
  • Side by side and overlay views, and click any change to jump to it
  • Restore an older revision without losing anything
